Alberto Bazzoni Art Deco Bronze Sculpture
Bronze by Italian artist Alberto Bazzoni (1889–1973). Influence by Roman sculpture is evident here, rendered in the Art Deco style this piece features a caped warrior on a chariot, dramatically rising from the base, harnessing two jumping horses. In excellent original condition.
Bazzoni studied at the Academy of Fine Arts from 1908-1913 and contributed to public works with a fountain for the barracks in Reggio Emilia and monuments to the fallen in Fidenza and Salsomaggiore. He spent his later years in Paris and Milan, producing bronze sculpture for private clients.
