Oil painting of a reclining Sainte Mary Magdelene by Louis Courtat (1840-1909). Courtat submitted this work to the Paris Salon of 1889, a no. 650 assigned to the painting is still posted on the top bar of the frame. Monogram signature at the bottom right hand corner of the canvas.
Louis Courtat studied at École des Beaux-Arts and was best known for his portraits, allegorical paintings and historical scenes.
